Package of transport infrastructure and sustainable transport schemes.
The package of schemes to be delivered will be drawn from the list below, to fit the funding available whilst maximising the outputs and outcomes:
The package will seek to transforms sustainable travel options linking the town centre to the Surrey Research Park, via the University of Surrey and Royal Surrey Hospital, together with the new railway station serving this area of Guildford. It will also upgrade the town centre road network to relieve congestion currently holding back development at the Research Park and flood relief measures that, together with the proposed Guildford Housing Zone, will create conditions for unlocking development.
This is a strategic programme which will collectively create accessibility and infrastructure improvements, unlock development opportunities, increase housing supply and improve the capacity of Guildford to generate wealth and high quality jobs. The exact nature of the outputs will be agreed once the make up of the programme has been firmed up.
