From 1 April 2024, the responsibility for LEP functions across the Enterprise M3 LEP region has transferred to Hampshire County Council and Surrey County Council.

The Enterprise M3 Board met for the last time in March 2024 and Enterprise M3 LEP is no longer operating as an organisation.

Please note that Enterprise M3 LEP staff have transferred to Hampshire County Council to continue to deliver services and activities in Hampshire, including the Growth Hub, the Careers Hub, work on key business sectors, and trade and investment.

Project description

Package of transport infrastructure and sustainable transport schemes.

The package of schemes to be delivered will be drawn from the list below, to fit the funding available whilst maximising the outputs and outcomes:

  • Guildford West Transformation
  • Sustainable Movement Corridor
  • Guildford West Railway station Guildford Transport Corridors
  • Town Centre Gyratory
  • East Guildford Connectivity Phase
  • Guildford Quality Bus Corridors
  • Yorkie’s Bridge Guildford Approaches
  • Blackwater Valley South Hotspot
  • A 31 Guildford to Wrecclesham Resilience
  • Wider Network Benefits West Guildford Flood Alleviation.

The package will seek to transforms sustainable travel options linking the town centre to the Surrey Research Park, via the University of Surrey and Royal Surrey Hospital, together with the new railway station serving this area of Guildford. It will also upgrade the town centre road network to relieve congestion currently holding back development at the Research Park and flood relief measures that, together with the proposed Guildford Housing Zone, will create conditions for unlocking development.

Project output

This is a strategic programme which will collectively create accessibility and infrastructure improvements, unlock development opportunities, increase housing supply and improve the capacity of Guildford to generate wealth and high quality jobs. The exact nature of the outputs will be agreed once the make up of the programme has been firmed up.
