Construction of a new business class hotel at Enterprise M3's enterprise zone in Basingstoke, is expected to be completed by the end of January 2020.

The £20 million investment by Village Hotels at Basing View, one of the sites on the LEP's EZ³ multi-site enterprise zone, will bring with it over 130 construction jobs, a further 200 jobs in the construction supply chain and over 100 permanent jobs when it opens.

The funding for the ground levelling of the area where the hotel is located, was also provided by the LEP.

A total of 36 apprenticeship weeks and more than 126 work experience hours have already been completed during the construction period.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Leader Cllr Ken Rhatigan and the Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Property Cllr John Izett, visited the Village Hotel site at Basing View to catch up on its progress.

During their visit, Cllr Izett and Cllr Rhatigan also heard how Willmott Dixon is aiming to reduce the facility’s carbon emissions using technology such as air source heat pumps, heat recovery systems and LED lighting throughout the building.

We were impressed with the progress made in building the new Village hotel and it is already a stunning new addition to the Basing View skyline. The hotel will be a fantastic new facility for the staff and customers of the growing number of businesses based in and around Basing View and is another important step in our regeneration of Basing View in association with the Local Enterprise Partnership and other partners.

Cllr John Izett , Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Property

Enterprise M3 has invested in Basing View, Longcross and Whitehill & Bordon which are all part of EZ³, a multi-site enterprise zone to promote innovation, 5G communications, cyber security and sustainable technologies.

We are delighted to be delivering the new Village Hotel and are committed to leaving a lasting positive legacy for the community of Basingstoke. The new hotel will not only be a fantastic new facility for its customers but also creates jobs and opportunities for the wider community.
