Sovereign is one of the largest housing associations in the country, providing over 57,000 affordable homes across the south and south west of England and the Isle of Wight. They currently have offices from Exeter to Bristol in the South West, through to Newbury and Basingstoke as well as the Isle of Wight.
As part of its new, five-year strategy Sovereign has revealed the first step in its plans is to rethink how it delivers its services, replacing 20 offices and depots with seven new, modern hubs as well as building 1,600 new homes per year. The Head Office and customer contact team will move to the Florence building in Basingstoke from late summer with a bespoke new operational hub will be built in Newbury, West Berkshire.
All housing, property, development and community investment teams covering Hampshire and Berkshire will then be brought together when the new building is completed during 2020.
The building at Basingstoke is a new category A office recently completed and provides just under 60,000 square feet of space over 5 floors in central Basingstoke with over 200 car parking spaces and 48 secure cycle spaces. This is a key development within the Enterprise Zone and will achieve a major new occupier generating new business rates income for the local authority and Enterprise M3 LEP.
