An Enterprise M3 Board member took a prime position at a conference showcasing the role of women in Local Enterprise Partnerships.
Stacey King, also BT Group’s Regional Director London & South East, spoke at the LEP Women Leaders 2019 event held in London on 6 June.
The event aimed to showcase existing women in leadership positions, inspire future generations of women to become business leaders and get involved with LEPs, and to promote the work of LEPs around the economy, skills and infrastructure.
Enterprise M3 have been championing diversity over the past year with a push on encouraging women leaders to apply for board positions and to engage on the LEP’s action groups. Stacey spoke passionately about her career and the motivation she gained from working with others. She took part in the panel discussion on ‘enhancing gender diversity on LEP Boards’, speaking about the scale , range and impact of LEP work.

Fellow Board member Linda Cheung, co-founder at Intrapreneur Nation, attended the event and tweeted key insights from the conference to spread the word on the role of LEPs and how they can be more diverse.
Enterprise M3’s Chief Executive Kathy Slack also attended the event and is now working with board members and chief executive in other LEPs to encourage more women to get involved. From 1 April 2024, the responsibility for LEP functions across the Enterprise M3 LEP region has transferred to Hampshire County Council and Surrey County Council.
The Enterprise M3 Board met for the last time in March 2024 and Enterprise M3 LEP is no longer operating as an organisation.

Please note that Enterprise M3 LEP staff have transferred to Hampshire County Council to continue to deliver services and activities in Hampshire, including the Growth Hub, the Careers Hub, work on key business sectors, and trade and investment.
