Throughout May, EM3 Careers Hub Enterprise Coordinators are providing the latest edition of The Careers Leader Handbook to schools and colleges across Hampshire and Surrey.

The practical guide is aimed at Career Leaders who manage and co-ordinate school careers programmes, across eight Gatsby Benchmarks, which provide a framework for good career guidance for secondary schools.

The Careers Leader Handbook offers case studies, ideas and activities to help Career Leaders plan, develop and maintain their programme as well as showing how they can lead effectively and develop their role and expertise.

EM3 Careers and Skills Manager, Suzanne Dixon, said: “It’s lovely to be able to support the schools in our network this way. We are also funding careers opportunities for schools who meet Gatsby Benchmark 1 in their next Audit (Compass) return, or some way towards it. And we’re looking forward to celebrating the work Careers Leaders and our volunteer Enterprise Advisers do at a special event later in the year.”

Among those who received the handbook was Emma Clelland, who is the Careers and Applied Learning Coordinator at Collingwood College, in Camberley, Surrey. She said: “It’s great to have an updated and refreshed copy of The Careers Leader Handbook. It makes me want to read it, to see what’s new.”
