Exports are one of the outstanding strengths of the Enterprise M3 economy.

The Enterprise M3 LEP area is a gateway to global markets with extraordinary links to international and national air and sea ports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, and Southampton port. Farnborough has one of Europe’s premier private airports. Heathrow expansion will provide an opportunity to grow the sub-regional economy as well as exports.

Exporting is a major theme of our emerging Local Industrial Strategy and you can find some of our latest research here or download the report from the documents section at the bottom of this page.

The area has an internationally focused business base, with a high number of foreign owned firms, including many international headquarters.

Export activity amongst our businesses is high and EM3 LEP has been recognised by the Department for International Trade for its expertise in supporting businesses to become successful exporters.

Exports are one of Enterprise M3 LEP's strongest assets, representing £14.6bn worth of goods in 2015. Almost 60% of these goods go to non-EU countries, especially USA and China.
