The Enterprise M3 LEP area was allocated €50m of European Structural and Investment Funding for the 2014-2020 funding period. This was made up of €25.2 of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), €20.46m of European Social Fund (ESF) and €4.4m of European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) funding.

Enterprise M3 developed an EU Structural and Investment Funds Strategy which set out the broad programmes of activity the economy needed this funding to be used for in order to achieve sustainable, inclusive economic growth over the period of this programme.

The programme was primarily focused around support for skills and employment, as well as support for our small and medium enterprises and the facilitation of innovation, building on the strengths of our businesses and universities.

On 24th July 2018, Government confirmed an extension to their previous guarantee, which covered the full 2014-2020 ESIF programming period. This means that ERDF and ESF contracted projects in the EM3 can continue to run up to 31 December 2023 regardless of Brexit.

All calls for new proposals to lead on EU funded projects in the EM3 are are now closed

From 1 April 2024, the responsibility for LEP functions across the Enterprise M3 LEP region has transferred to Hampshire County Council and Surrey County Council.

The Enterprise M3 Board met for the last time in March 2024 and Enterprise M3 LEP is no longer operating as an organisation.
