Working for a smarter future in the M3 corridor
“As we emerge from a tough recession, let’s look forwards not backwards and look to how we innovate to stay ahead of the competition. Innovation and collaboration in how we work together will be as important as the creation of new products. Let’s join forces to make this THE place where your business can succeed.” This call for action comes from Geoff French, Chair of Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership as he urges businesses to join him and other key influencers at the LEP’s fourth annual conference on 27 February 2014 at FIVE in Farnborough.
The keynote speaker at this year’s Annual Conference is Charles Leadbeater, a renowned expert on innovation who has a proven track record of spotting ideas ahead of time (he predicted the rise of social entrepreneurship in his 1997 book, The Rise of the Social Entrepreneur). Charles’ keynote speech will be a lively and thought-provoking session focusing on what he thinks the future trends of the global economy will be and what businesses, regardless of their size, can do stay ahead of the game.
Other confirmed speakers include a key speaker from the McLaren Group and Kate Dean from SEGRO plc, a leading owner, asset manager and developer of modern warehousing, light industrial and data centre properties in the South East. McLarenwill be sharing with delegates insights into the business ethos of the McLaren Group, how innovation is stimulated and supported within business and what it does to nurture and retain talent. Meanwhile Kate will be talking about the changing property market in the South East and, as Chair of Enterprise M3’s Fund Management Group, will be launching Enterprise M3’s Investment Funds which are worth £5.5 million.
Commenting on this year’s Annual Conference, Geoff French, Chair of Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “This year’s Conference promises to be our best one to date. We have put together an exciting programme of national, regional and local speakers that will both demonstrate the innovative and inventive work that is already happening in our area and look ahead to what smaller and larger companies need to do to ensure their future economic success.”
Enterprise M3’s Conference Partners for the 2014 Annual Conference is Fluor, one of the world’s leading publicly traded engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance and project management companies. Fluor has its UK headquarters in Farnborough.
