If you would like to be a Board Member, or even Chair, at a pioneering and innovative cross-sectoral partnership then look no further than Enterprise M3 LEP. We are at the very heart of successful collaborative economic growth.
Local Economic Partnerships (LEPs) are voluntary partnerships between local authorities and businesses to help determine local economic priorities and lead economic growth within their area. Enterprise M3 LEP drives the economic growth of the area translating and signposting opportunities for business and other partners, including funding. Recognising that local people best understand what the local area needs, we work within a network of businesses, key delivery partners and central government to articulate the regional vision, coordinate programmes, advocate to government and deliver on growth.
Enterprise M3 LEP stretches from the New Forest to London, and brings together two counties and 14 local authorities, making us one of the largest LEPs in the country. Having already secured more than £250 million for capital programmes, we are also one of the most successful and high performing LEPs. We are currently seeking a new Chair of the Board and four private sector Board Members to join the Board. We are looking for passionate people who are engaged with the regional community and who want to create the conditions that encourage companies to grow.
The Enterprise M3 Board takes the final decision on funding across each of our programmes and plays a key role in setting the economic vision and strategy for the region. We are looking to appoint individuals of exceptional calibre to contribute to continued growth and strategic development of Enterprise M3 and the region.
The Chair of the Board provides leadership and direction to both the Board and the wider network of partners, ensuring they collaborate, challenge, innovate and provide leadership. A strategic thinker, our new Chair will work closely with the Executive Director, Kathy Slack to build momentum and drive the LEP and the M3 corridor forward. You will be a recognised business leader, with a high profile in the Enterprise M3 area and will bring strong regional and national networks. Meeting regularly with senior politicians, and the Prime Minister twice annually, this is an exciting opportunity to have significant impact on both the local and national scale.
The Chair position is remunerated at £20,000 per annum and is for an initial term of three years. This can be extended to a second term of three years. The time required is one to two days per week, including six board meetings annually and various public events.
We are looking for individuals from the private sector who would bring their commercial knowledge and experience to help us shape our projects and programmes. You will bring an understanding of the big picture for the local area and will play a key role in setting the economic vision and strategy for the area.
Board Member roles are non-remunerated positions and the initial term is two or three years with the potential for a one term extension. The time required is up to one day per month including six board meetings. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
