Figures released by Innovate UK suggest businesses based in the EnterpriseM3 area have stepped up to the Government’s levelling up challenge and are leading collaborative R&D partnerships across the country, receiving millions of pounds of innovation funding.

Businesses, both large and small, working in areas such as clean growth, health and manufacturing are partnering with a range of organisations to drive innovation growth as the economy begins to rebound from the covid pandemic.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak recently announced during his Spring Statement that innovation activities accounted for around half of the UK’s pre-pandemic growth, which highlights just how important innovation is to the UK economy.

Sue Littlemore, EM3 Director of Policy, Economic Strategy and Communications said:

“The EnterpriseM3 area is a powerhouse of innovation which is exporting knowledge and leadership to areas around the UK, particularly in areas identified by the Government in its plan to ‘level up’.

Collaborative R&D and innovation are vital to the continued growth of the economy which is why EM3 LEP continues to focus heavily on working with high-growth, high-tech, innovative companies.”

EnterpriseM3 continues to work with a number of innovation companies to help them grow through our Growth Programme and Techpreneurs Development Programme.
