From the 28th of July, a 24-hour bus service will be introduced to the Blackwater Valley - part of a £25m Enterprise M3 investment in the area.

The Stagecoach Gold 1 service, which runs between Aldershot, Farnborough and Camberley, will run hourly throughout the night Monday to Saturday with buses up to every 10 minutes during the daytime.

Stagecoach South has cited convenience for those members of the public working irregular hours, as well as boosting trade at local pubs and restaurants, as key drivers for the new route.

The change will be of particular interest to Frimley Park Hospital night shift workers, who will benefit from a more direct route to the hospital grounds during the overnight service.

The introduction of the 24-hour service is part of a wider raft of improvements to Blackwater Valley’s transport system that has been supported by funding from Local Enterprise Partnership, Enterprise M3.

We have made major investments to the local public transport infrastructure that has helped support the introduction of Stagecoach South’s new 24-hour bus service. Linking three major towns in the Blackwater Valley, the extended bus service is key to ensuring we continue to deliver economic growth.

Kevin Travers , Head of Transport at Enterprise M3

The LEP has committed £25 million worth of investment in transport infrastructure in the Blackwater Valley, with the aim of improving the region’s connectivity with and accessibility to key employment areas.

We understand the important role that bus connectivity plays within the wider community and people's livelihoods. A key driver for the extension of the Gold 1 route was to support the continued economic growth of the Blackwater Valley.

We place our customers at the heart of everything we do and hope that our new 24-hour timetable will provide late-night passengers with a safe, reliable and convenient journey.
