The package consists of a comprehensive group of schemes to improve accessibility and provide a vibrant town centre. The project will offer a more efficient, safe and pleasant environment for all users of Woking Railway Station by providing an excellent transport interchange between all modes.
The Gateway to the National Parks project at Lepe Country Park will make a strong contribution to the vision for the Enterprise M3 areas as “the premier location in the country for enterprise and economic growth, balanced with an excellent environment and quality of life”.
The Clay Lane Link Road is designed to improve access to the Slyfield Industrial Estate and aims to ease the current congestion issues, help existing businesses grow and encourage new businesses to relocate to the estate which will help retain jobs and create new employment opportunities.
The package of Blackwater Valley cycle and pedestrian improvements incorporates schemes on the A331 and parts of the wider Blackwater Valley Sustainable Transport Package of cycle and pedestrian route improvements.
The package of improvements will help ease congestion in two of the major employment areas in Basingstoke, Chineham and Hampshire International Business Parks, as well as aid potential expansions and future job creation.
