Employers Building Futures

The Employers Building Futures campaign has been developed to help you to tackle the ongoing challenges around engaging young talented people with your organisation and industry. It aims to address Corporate Social Responsibility, diversity, inclusion and skills gaps that affect your organisation.

Through engaging with secondary and college education institutes, you will help young people make informed careers choices and be better prepared for the world of work.

Work with our Careers and Enterprise team to effectively utilise your time and resources to ensure the best impact and outcomes for your organisation, and the future of young people.

We recognise that not all businesses are the same and with that in mind we have identified six core options to streamline your engagement with the local education community:

Employer Advisory Group

If your organisation is already engaging with education institutes; then we can connect you with like minded businesses to strategically shape skills and labour market support for young people. Act as an industry ambassador to promote your business and industry in North Hampshire and Surrey with the support of EM3.

Enterprise Adviser Network

We pair experienced business people with a single school or college to build a careers strategy that reflects the needs of all stakeholders. Use your business knowledge and experience to develop a programme that provides impactful outcomes, and insights into the world of work. Join our large network of volunteers who are already influencing the career choices of young people from behind the scenes.

Employer Education Programmes

Align your outreach programme with government strategy, and the needs of local institutes. Work with our dedicated education team to produce and promote effective projects that result in meaningful outcomes, in one or more institutes.

Employers Supporting Events

Throughout the academic year, schools and colleges run their own events, and engage with central activities run by the Careers and Enterprise team. Work with us to shape these events; ensuring that they meet the needs of business and education.

Employer Project Ambassadors

Work directly with curriculum leaders to shape short term projects, providing real-world industry and skills insights. Address key issues affecting your business and industry, overcoming challenges that affect your talent pipeline. Prepare young people for the world of work and inform your future recruitment strategy.

Employee Ambassadors

Volunteer your time to provide personal insights into particular roles and career pathways. Activities range from industry talks to mock interview days, typically lasting between one hour and one day. This route is best suited for businesses that prefer an ad hoc approach.

These six routes are simply a guide, and we are always open to exploring other options which suit all stakeholders involved. We welcome discussions with businesses to develop meaningful solutions.
