Engaging with parents

We should all be encouraging parents and carers to access and use information about labour markets and future study options so they are better placed to inform and support their children.

With this in mind, at the end of the last academic year we created a supportive local Facebook group as a resource for parents and carers.

Careers information - Hampshire and Surrey group

Now, with just under 300 active users our Facebook page (administered by our Enterprise Coordinators (EC) Megan Low and Anstey Brierley) has grown very fast and is proving to be a safe community for the exchange of information.

Everyday a number of different posts are added. Recent posts have included:

  • Local and national opportunities including, work experience, work place visits, seminars, events
  • College, university and Apprenticeship events
  • Labour market information
  • SEND opportunities
  • surveys, hints and advice about choosing subjects and transition options.

Please share the below link with your own parent and carer community, so that we can help you to support them:

From 1 April 2024, the responsibility for LEP functions across the Enterprise M3 LEP region has transferred to Hampshire County Council and Surrey County Council.

The Enterprise M3 Board met for the last time in March 2024 and Enterprise M3 LEP is no longer operating as an organisation.

For any enquiries relating to economic development across the counties of Hampshire and Surrey, please visit the Hampshire County Council website and Business Surrey respectively.

Please note that Enterprise M3 LEP staff have transferred to Hampshire County Council to continue to deliver services and activities in Hampshire, including the Growth Hub, the Careers Hub, work on key business sectors, and trade and investment.
They can be contacted at economic.development@hants.gov.uk.
