Following the publication of the Alison Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship Enterprise M3 is delighted to work with NatWest to launch ‘Expert In Residence’.  This initiative involves a colleague from NatWest working with the LEP to encourage collaboration and deliver positive action on supporting and profiling diversity and inclusion in business.  A particular focus is to ensure that the Enterprise M3 Growth Hub engagement with, and support of, women business leaders is equitable.

NatWest’s Amanda Shovelton and Liana Brien have been appointed to the role of Expert in Residence and will be working over a six month period to help support more female entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed. One of the key measures for their role will be understanding the barriers of growth that prevent women-led businesses from applying for grant funding and reaching out for support.

Amanda has over 15 years’ experience in banking and has spent the last 12 years specialising in business banking within the local area. As an ambassador for women in business she holds an accreditation in NatWest’s Everywoman programme which supports female business owners to turn their dreams and ambitions into a reality.

The UK has one of the most vibrant entrepreneurial communities in the world, but only one in three of our entrepreneurs are female. I am delighted to join the Enterprise M3 as their expert in residence to unlock the hidden female talent we have in Surrey and Hampshire. The south is an incredible place to be in business and the opportunities are vast. I hope to be able to raise awareness of the Growth Hub and the LEP and show how it can support women to be more ambitious within their businesses. I am passionate about supporting female entrepreneurs and I want to make a difference.

I am lucky to work with such inspirational, strong and successful women business owners. I am looking forward to joining the enterprise M3 as another of their experts in residence to connect these women to others who need support to help their business grow and achieve their ambitions.
